Advance to Boardwalk

I had the best day the other day. Gab and I had plans to hit Great America with our friends Miggy and Zoe, but we found out that the park would be closed all week. Plan B? Drive to Santa Cruz and chill at the boardwalk. #RandomAdventure! (Seriously, none of us had ever been there before.)

Stuff we did...

*got floating stomach butterflies on a pirate ship

*ate tiny but yummy pizza on the beach

*got sand out of our shoes

 *chilled on the beach front

*played pirate mini golf (i got a whole in one wooohoo!)

 *played glow-in-the-dark mini golf!

*Took an interpretive dance break on the boardwalk
Today was awesome, and I'm pretty sure half of it's awesomeness came from the fact that we didn't plan it to go the way that it did. We literally wandered around doing whatever first came to mind. Other stuff we did: walked through a haunted house, had some sugary summer treats, got spun around in the air a bunch of times, rode a really old wooden roller coaster, shot some pool, and looked at pretty clouds on the drive home. I swear the whole day I was walking around, smiling from ear to ear like an idiot. (top and bottom photos by Zoe Canteras)

P.S.
I learned something today: When you're feeling sad, stop, and just feel awesome instead. Easier said than done. But I'm willing to give it a shot.
